April In My Shower

This post may contain the two most boring photographs ever shared.

We always like to talk about people doing the small things well don't we, learning something, making a corner of the garden look a little bit better, making a cake that pretty much nailed it. I'm celebrating that today.

On the last official day of the bathroom redo the plumbers were packing up when they discovered a chip in the shower tray, this week it was repaired.

The shower magician started the job on Wednesday, then came back yesterday for one last blob of silicone and a buff of the tray.

Amazing!

We still have no flooring, and the walls aren't painted, although we did buy some paint last week so the end may be in sight.

  2. There's light at the end of that particular tunnel and it will be so very nice when it is all done.

    1. Thank you, I think we're coming out of the "I wish we hadn't bothered" stage and onto the "phew, it's all done".

  3. Why is nothing perfect first time? I gat so distressed by this that I hate actually buying anything and having any kind of tradesman in the house makes me want to leave home! Hope it’s drier at your end of the country than here. Happy weekend.

    1. I know just how you feel, I have had a couple of tantrums throughout this time!

We seem to be one good day-one not so good day weather-wise at the moment, hope you get some sun soon.

  4. At least it could be repaired in situ!

    1. Exactly, I was so relieved to hear they had a repair guy, especially as the shower tray is wedged in under the wall for a seamless fit!

  6. I'm envious. I got sticker shock at the quote to have someone else do it, now we are going to try and DIY, but need the weather to cooperate so we can get things hauled out and replaced same weekend. We will probabl just hire someone to repaint/re do somehting on the existing tub, but flooring, vanity, mediine cabinet, morrors etc. will be us.

    1. We are not really DIY people, I wouldn't know where to start with a plumbing job. Although it has taken more time than I anticipated the cost has not been as much of an issue, especially as we got a discount with having the new heating at the same time. Good luck with your redo.

    1. I know, it's so good isn't it!

The end is in sight, but we're not the most motivated DIY people so the painting could take some time, especially if we have some sunny weather!
