You Had One Job

This is a whinge, mainly about the hundreds of pounds streaming out of our lives on ridiculous rubbish each month.

We set off to go to the supermarket/ pizza place last night for celebratory treats, I hadn't even got in the car and I could hear a weird noise. The newly repaired (at no small cost) car now has a weird bangy steering problem that it didn't have before it went in to have the clutch repaired. The mechanic is "mystified". I'm sure it's an amazing coincidence and nothing to do with anything they did.

I will never get into that car again, I am done with it. I have no clue what we're going to do but as I refuse to spend any more money at the garage I assume we're going to be carless for a while. Were we not also trainless at the moment it might not be so bad!

The New Year period of positivity well and truly ended yesterday! And there wasn't even any cake!

Whinge over.

  1. Oh my!! Hope you are not trainless for long. One would think if it is the shops error, they wouldn't charge anything for the fix.

    God bless.

    1. We shall see Jackie. I think we'll have to pay for the tow truck at least, who knows what's going to happen!

  4. I understand how you feel about the car. My husband is a taxi driver and used to take his car to a garage for fixings but every time it came back something else was wrong. I found it very suspect and suggested he went to a different garage. Eventually he did and now the problems get fixed without anything else going wrong.I also take my car there for fixing and MOTs.

    1. Glad you found somewhere better for your vehicles. We have always used this garage as it's a Volvo specialist, maybe I am being too harsh on them as the car is quite old and the things that are going wrong are all the "wear and tear" type things. Still frustrating.

  5. Like many things in life cars are OK as long as there's not a problem with them! And nothing is ever a cheap job either. Interested as to why you are trainless - has one of the stations closed? Go and buy a big slab of cake pronto :) xx

    1. Absolutely!

For the past little while there has been train disruption due to major engineering works. Thankfully trains will be back here from the end of the month, I think there's still work on the line to Blackpool North until March. It's much needed work but bad timing for us.

    1. It's so frustrating isn't it. We've felt really out on a limb, I think we're back to normal this week, which is brilliant.
